The main opposition, United Workers Party, has issued another challenge to Prime Minister Dr.Kenny Anthony, to reveal information pertaining to the Grynberg affair. The UWP says St.Lucia has been snatched by Jack Grynberg’s claws in a multi million dollar suit.

The UWP says through its Press Statement dated April 20th, 2012 and issued May 2nd, 2012, the Government sought to convey the impression that Jack Grynberg’s decision to initiate arbitration proceedings against the Government of Saint Lucia was heavily influenced by the actions of former Prime Minister Stephenson King.

References were made in the said Press Statements to claims that the then Prime Minister had signed an extension to the Oil Exploration Agreement with Jack Grynberg and his company RSM Production Company. Former Prime Minister King has repeatedly declared publicly, that he did not sign any such extension and has challenged anyone to prove otherwise.

The UWP has called on Prime Minister Anthony to tell Saint Lucians the real reason which prompted Jack Grynberg to initiate the arbitration proceedings.

The opposition says Prime Minister Anthony should explain to Saint Lucians why he chose to ignore the more recent efforts by Jack Grynberg to “negotiate” with his Government over an agreement which he Dr. Anthony thought was in the best interest of the nation.

The UWP says it expects that Dr. Anthony will come forward in short time to address the people of Saint Lucia as a responsible Prime Minister and in so doing, explain to the nation what prompted arbitration proceedings by Jack Grynberg, in which he seeks damages in the sum of EC $500 Million from the Government and people of Saint Lucia.
