Nursing Aides and Emergency Medical Technicians employed with Tapion Hospital last night voted in favour of trade union representation. The employees participated in a secret ballot poll which revealed that over seventy-one percent (71%) voted in favour of having their interest protected by the National Workers Union (NWU). The process which was undertaken by the Department of Labour was supervised by Acting Labour Commissioner, Mr. Ray Narcisse. The NWU expects to receive its letter of certification shortly. Meanwhile a general meeting is being organized with the employees to discuss representational issues. The NWU currently represents workers at Victoria Hospital, St. Jude Hospital and now Tapion Hospital.
